Update 18th March 2020:

Following UK Government announcement on COVID-19, 17th March 2020

The British Horse Society has been monitoring the Government’s guidance to protect people during the Covid-19 outbreak. We recognise this is a challenging and worrying time for individuals in the industry both professionally and personally.

As a result we will be cancelling or postponing all BHS Assessments, BHS CPD activity, Safeguarding and First Aid courses until the end of June 2020. As a result all APCs and Approved Centres will be able to extend the window for maintaining CPD, safeguarding and first aid requirements until 31 December 2020. On line safeguarding provisions will continue.

We run a range of Continual Professional Development (CPD) training events to help you expand and fulfill your personal and professional potential.

We encourage an ethos of lifelong learning within the professional equestrian industry. To encourage coaches to keep up to date with the very best practice and develop their skills and knowledge, we have made the decision to change the requirements for CPD from 1 January 2019. From this date, all Accredited Professional Coaches are required to complete a CPD course every year. All new coaches that join the Accredited Professional Coach Membership will be required to complete a course within six months of joining. With more coursers being accredited by the BHS through Member Bodies and with the five BHS Conventions next year, there will be many fantastic opportunities to update annually, ensuring all Accredited coaches continue to be the very best in the industry.
