Coaching Practice Presentation

• A minimum age of 22 years
• BHS Stage 4 Senior Coaching unit (Stage 4 Unit 7, 8 or 9)
• BHS Gold member – Membership discounts apply for learners who are training for or taking BHS qualifications 

Presentation topic

• You can either present the development of a rider and horse combination towards competition or a career rider training on multiple horses
• The rider can be of any level or experience
• You will have been expected to have trained the rider over a minimum period of six months

Assessment criteria

You will be assessed on the following learning outcomes:

• Select and justify a coaching plan for the development of a rider
• Analyse the coaching and development of a rider
• Evaluate the coaching plan implemented

• You will be required to present your review in an interactive way using text, charts/graphs/images, spoken word and technology (for example, Microsoft PowerPoint).
• You will present your review to a panel of industry professionals (for example, BHS Assessors, BHS Fellows and veterinarians).
• Your presentation should last between 15-30 minutes, with an additional allowance of 15-30 minutes for questions from the panel (total 45 minutes per session).
• Supporting evidence should be brought to the assessment for review from the panel.

All applicants are encouraged to undertake training and guidance at a BHS Approved Centre or with a BHS Accredited Professional Coach to ensure you are ready for your assessment. We also encourage you to practice the delivery of your presentation before your assessment.
